This Privacy Policy explains how Salt OTD, LLC (“Salt OTD,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and retains personal information in connection with both (1) our website (including any “coming soon” or waitlist pages) and (2) our SMS-based mindfulness service (together, the “Services”). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1) Information We Collect
Website Visitors
- Email Address — when you join our waitlist or request launch updates (via our form provider).
- Basic Analytics & Technical Data — we may collect limited technical information automatically when you visit our site, such as IP address, approximate location (derived from IP), browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps. We use this in aggregate to troubleshoot, secure, and improve site performance.
SMS Subscribers
- First Name — used to personalize messages.
- Phone Number — used to deliver and receive SMS messages.
- Email Address — collected during checkout and for account notices.
- Preferences — your stated content or timing preferences while subscribed.
- Message Content — the text you send and the content we send you; we may process recent message content to generate and tailor future messages.
- Billing Details (via Stripe) — email, billing address, and payment method are processed and stored by our payment processor (not by Salt OTD).
We do not store your full payment card details or billing address in our systems. Those are managed by our payment processor.
2) How We Use Information
- To deliver SMS messages and manage your subscription (phone number required).
- To personalize content (first name and preferences).
- To tailor responses and improve message quality (processing same-day or recent message content to generate affirmations and supportive interactions).
- To determine appropriate send times, including time-zone alignment.
- To provide customer support and communicate important account or service updates.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Services (including performance, safety, and reliability).
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Marketing Communications
If you join our waitlist or become a subscriber, we may send service updates and occasional promotional messages consistent with your settings and applicable law. You can opt out of email marketing by using the unsubscribe link in those emails. For SMS, reply STOPat any time to opt out; reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.
Legal Basis (Where Applicable)
While Salt OTD, LLC operates in the United States, certain privacy laws require us to state our legal bases for processing. We rely on: (a) Contract (to provide the SMS service you subscribed to); (b) Legitimate Interests (to operate, secure, and improve the Services, including basic analytics and quality assurance); and (c) Consent(where required by law, such as optional marketing emails/SMS or cookies/analytics in some regions).
3) Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We disclose personal information only to the following categories of recipients, for the purposes described in this policy:
- Service providers that help us operate, secure, and support the Services (e.g., hosting and infrastructure, security, analytics, error monitoring, customer support). These providers only process information on our instructions and under appropriate safeguards.
- SMS delivery providers that enable sending and receiving text messages.
- AI service providers that help generate and tailor message content, where we may send limited inputs (such as first name, preferences, and recent message content) to produce a response consistent with this policy.
- Payment processors (for subscriptions, billing, and fraud prevention). We do not store your full payment card details.Our current payment processor is Stripe.
- Form and email tools used to collect and manage waitlist sign-ups and product announcements.
- Legal and compliance recipients where required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or similar event.
We may update our service providers from time to time. We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect personal information disclosed to service providers and require them to process it only for the services they perform for us.
4) Cookies & Basic Analytics
Our website may use limited cookies or similar technologies for functionality and basic analytics (e.g., to understand aggregate usage and improve site performance). We do not use advertising or behavioral targeting cookies. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.
5) Data Retention
- Identifiers (first name, phone number, email, preferences): retained for up to 90 days after subscription cancellation, then deleted or anonymized.
- Message Content: retained for up to 60 days, then deleted or anonymized.
- Billing Records: retained by our payment processor for accounting and compliance.
If you resubscribe within these windows, we may use retained identifiers/preferences to restore your experience. You may request earlier deletion (see “Your Rights” below).
6) Your Rights
You may exercise the following rights, subject to verification and applicable law:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction — request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Deletion — request early deletion before the retention windows above.

Additional Rights by Region
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law (e.g., California or the European Economic Area/United Kingdom), such as the right to object to certain processing, request restriction, or request data portability. 7) Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We also use encryption in transit (HTTPS) for our website and interfaces. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
8) Children’s Privacy
The Services are intended for adults and are not for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from someone under 18, we will delete it promptly. 9) U.S.-Based Company & Processing
Salt OTD, LLC operates in the United States. Your information may be stored or processed in the United States. By using the Services, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the U.S.
10) Text Messaging & Opt-Out
If you subscribe to our SMS service, you can opt out of messages at any time by replying STOP. For help, reply HELP. Message and data rates may apply. For more information about your use of the SMS service, please see our Terms & Conditions.
11) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last Updated” date above. Your continued use of the Services after an update constitutes acceptance of the changes.
